(7 Jahre nach dem letzten Longplayer "Sex, Love & Rock'n roll" endlich wieder neues Studio-Material von O.C.'s Favourite Son Mike Ness und seinen Companeros! "Hard times and nursery rhymes", Album # 7, enthält 11 (inklusive Instrumental-Intro)bzw. 13 (Vinyl glänzt mit zwei Bonus-Tracks: "Take Care of Yourself" & "I Wont Run No More") extrem lässige Tracks im hochverehrten, einzigartigen und kopiergeschützten Social D.-Style, Original bleibt halt Original. Insgesamt sehr rockig und entspannt ausgefallen, die Rolling Stones, Hank Williams (erneut durch ein Cover geehrt) und Bruce Springsteen standen hörbar Pate. Der Zorn der frühen Jahre ist fast komplett verschwunden,das einzigartige Songwriting schließt aber ganz souverän diese Lücke. Mit "California (Hustle and Flow)" und Bakersfield" gibt es auch wieder die angenehme lokale Note, den charmanten SoCal-Spirit. Ein großartiges Album einer großartigen Band. Epitaph 2011)
