Scharmützel "Loud & Proud" CD (DigiPac)

"The boys are out tonight!" Die Hohenloher Combo zählt mittlerweilen zu den dienstältesten deutschen Skinhead-Bands. Von einer kurzen Verschnaupfpause abgesehen, treiben die Boys um Sänger Roger bereits seit 1995 lautstark ihr musikalisches Unwesen. "Loud & Proud" ist immerhin ihr fünftes Album, flankierend existieren noch eine 7", mehrere Demos und diverse Sampler-Beiträge. Da erwartet man hochwertige Kost, und solche bekommt man dann auch prompt serviert: 17 vollblütige Bootboy-Stomper, von der Straße für die Straße. Größter Pluspunkt: Die erstaunliche Vielseitigkeit!

Damit keine Langeweile aufkommt, bzw. sich Routine einschleicht, greifen SCHARMÜTZEL zu wirkungsvollen Abwehrmitteln: Einerseits bedient man sich (in alter SCHARMÜTZEL-Tradition) sowohl der deutschen als auch der englischen Sprache. Das allein sorgt für ordentlich Abwechslung, man kombiniert passgenau die internationale Note mit lokalem Charme. Andererseits pendelt man musikalisch zwischen hartem UK Aggro Oi! der Marke CONDEMNED 84, typisch deutschem 90er Glatzen-Beat und auflockernden Momenten. Beispiele gefällig? Was erwartet uns konkret ? Der Blick geht ins Detail: Der MOTÖRHEAD-Style Stomper "Neither Red Nor Rascist" macht es überdeutlich, SCHARMÜTZEL geben nach wie vor einen Dreck auf politischen Extremismus, lassen sich vor keinen Karren spannen. Hier ist kein Platz für Dummheit und Spinnereien. In "Pride" greift man die altbekannte WAR ZONE-Parole "Don't forget the struggle, don't forget your streets" auf, präsentiert sich stolz und hart. Loud and proud. "Ich bin was ich bin" schlägt trotzig in diesselbe Kärbe. "United Skins" und Zusammenhalt spielen textlich erneut eine große Rolle, "Immer noch dabei" ist ein deutliches Statement gegen Szene-Spalterei und Hetzerei. "Shout it out loud" startet mit "Singen & tanzen"-Two Tone Fröhlichkeit, wächst zu einem  mächtigen Party-Singalong heran. "Für immer 21" schließt sich als ewiges Versprechen an: "Im Ausweis steht was anderes,  im Herzen sind wir frei!"."Underclass" überrascht dann als smarter UK-Mod Rocker mit nachdenklicher Note, punktet durch lieblichen Damengesang und erinnert dezent an späte JAM (zu "Eton Rifles"-Zeiten). Mit dem STARS & STRIPES-Cover "Skinheads on the rampage" schlägt man schließlich am Schluß der Scheibe noch eine Brücke in die wilden 80er. Fazit: Ein absolut rundes Glatzen-Album, mit deutscher "Parole Spaß"-Tradition beseelt und straßentauglicher Vielfalt gefertigt. Skinhead-Sound 2011, derb und gnadenlos. "Bury me with my boots on!"

"The boys are out tonight!" SCHARMÜTZEL is meanwhile one of the longest-serving German skinhead bands. Apart from a brief hiatus, the lads are running since 1995. "Loud & Proud" is at least their fifth album, yet there are a 7 ", several demos and some sampler tracks. So you'll expect top notch stuff and you'll get top notch stuff: 17 hard-nosed Bootboy stompers, from the street for the street. Biggest plus point : Their amazin' versatility!

To avoid boredom, SCHARMÜTZEL bring in some kickin' ingredients: Lyrics are in German and English (Roger has scottish roots). That's combining accurately the international touch with local charm. Their hammerin' Sound range between violent-sounding UK Oi! like CONDEMNED 84 and the typical 90's German Bootboy beat, topped with a few catchy influences. Let's face some details: The Motörhead-style stomper "Neither Red Nor Rascist " make the things clear, SCHARMÜTZEL still give a shit about political extremism. There is no room for stupidity and gossip. SCHARMÜTZEL is an unity band: "United Skins" and "Stand together" are main topics, "Immer noch dabei" is a clear statement against divisive and rabble-rousing scene. "Shout It Out Loud" starts with a mellow Two Tone feeling, turns into a mighty party singalong. "Für immer 21" is an eternal promise, they're still juvenile at heart. "Underclass" surprised then as a smart UK mod rocker with a thoughtful note, scores with lovely ladies singing, remind of late JAM ("Eton Rifles" phase). With the STARS & STRIPES cover of "Skinheads on the rampage" they goes into the wild 80s. Final note: This album presents the german Skinhead-Sound 2011, rough and merciless. Loud and proud.
