The new edition Sugar Oi!, a hand-picked collection of Basel delicacies! VANILLA MUFFINS (est. 1993) founded their very own Pop Oi in the 90s! Version, a skilful update of British melody crackers like THE CRACK or COCK SPARRER brought to the Swiss course in an ultra-catchy way. Hits, hits, hits! Poppy, supple, polished. They immortalized themselves on five albums, seven singles and countless international compilations. Released on various labels spread across half the globe: WALZWERK (Ireland), HELEN OF Oi! (UK), KNOCK OUT (D), HAUNTED TOWN (USA). The whole Oi!/Punk world was gripped by Sugar Oi! fever back then! The band unfortunately broke up a few years ago, most of their recordings are sold out and are collector's items on vinyl. It's high time for a new edition: Bandleader Colin Brändle has now selected 13 representative songs from the extensive material pool and brought them up to date in terms of sound (aka remastered): "Ladies choice", "Blue red forever", "Storm over England", "Brigade Loco", "Saturday" etc. Specifically, the songs come from these releases: "Sugar Oi! will win" (1994), "Ultra fine day" (1998), "The Drug is football" (2003), "The "Devil is Swiss" (1997), "Gimme some Sugar Oi!" (1999), "All give some-some give all" (2002). The opening track is a brand new, exclusive track: "The Sugar Oi! jive". A sweet VANILLA MUFFINS theme song in perfect Sugar Oi! tradition. Nothing has been forgotten. A total of 14 Sugar Oi! pearls as an introduction to the VANILLA MUFFINS world, or as a useful overview.
