"The boys are out tonight!" The Hohenloher Combo is now one of the longest-serving German skinhead bands. Apart from a short break, the boys around singer Roger have been up to noisy musical mischief since 1995. "Loud & Proud" is after all their fifth album, flanked by a 7", several demos and various sampler contributions. You expect high-quality fare, and that's what you get promptly: 17 full-blooded bootboy stompers from the street for the street. Biggest plus point: the amazing versatility!
To prevent boredom from setting in and routine to set in, SCHARMÜTZEL resort to effective defense measures: On the one hand, they use both German and English (in the old SCHARMÜTZEL tradition). That alone provides a lot of variety, combining the international touch with local charm. On the other hand, musically you oscillate between hard UK Aggro Oi! the brand CONDEMNED 84, typical German 90s bald beat and relaxing moments. Any examples? What exactly awaits us? The look goes into the details: The MOTÖRHEAD-style stomper "Neither Red Nor Rascist" makes it abundantly clear that SKIRMUTZEL still don't give a damn about political extremism and won't let themselves be pulled into any cart. There is no room for stupidity and nonsense here. In "Pride" they take up the well-known WAR ZONE slogan "Don't forget the struggle, don't forget your streets" and present themselves proud and tough. Loud and proud. “I am what I am” is defiantly in the same vein. “United Skins” and cohesion once again play a major role in the lyrics, “Still there” is a clear statement against scene division and agitation. “Shout it out loud” starts with “singing & dancing” two-tone happiness and grows into a powerful party singalong. “Forever 21” follows as an eternal promise: “The ID card says something different, in our hearts we are free!” “Underclass” then surprises as a smart UK mod rocker with a thoughtful note, scores with lovely female vocals and is subtly reminiscent late JAM (during "Eton Rifles" times). With the STARS & STRIPES cover "Skinheads on the rampage" you finally build a bridge to the wild 80s at the end of the record. Conclusion: An absolutely well-rounded bald album, inspired by the German “Parole Fun” tradition and made with street-friendly variety. Skinhead sound 2011, rough and merciless. "Bury me with my boots on!"

"The boys are out tonight!" SCHARMÜTZEL is now one of the longest-serving German skinhead bands. Apart from a brief hiatus, the lads have been running since 1995. "Loud & Proud" is at least their fifth album, yet there are a 7 ", several demos and some sampler tracks. So you'll expect top notch stuff and you' ll get top notch stuff: 17 hard-nosed Bootboy stompers, from the street for the street. Biggest plus point: Their amazin' versatility!
To avoid boredom, SCHARMÜTZEL bring in some kickin' ingredients: Lyrics are in German and English (Roger has Scottish roots). That's accurately combining the international touch with local charm. Their hammerin' Sound range between violent-sounding UK Oi! like CONDEMNED 84 and the typical 90's German Bootboy beat, topped with a few catchy influences. Let's face some details: The Motörhead-style stomper "Neither Red Nor Rascist" make the things clear, SCHARMÜTZEL still give a shit about political extremism. There is no room for stupidity and gossip. SCHARMÜTZEL is a unity band: "United Skins" and "Stand together" are main topics, "Still there" is a clear statement against divisive and rabble-rousing scene. "Shout It Out Loud" starts with a mellow two tone feeling, turns into a mighty party singalong. "Forever 21" is an eternal promise, they're still juvenile at heart. "Underclass" surprised then as a smart UK mod rocker with a thoughtful note, scores with lovely ladies singing, reminiscent of late JAM ("Eton Rifles" phase). With the STARS & STRIPES cover of "Skinheads on the rampage" they go into the wild 80s. Final note: This album presents the German Skinhead Sound 2011, rough and merciless. Loud and proud. You won't be disappointed, Baldie!
