Martens Army (Skinhead Crew) "A Skinhead's Pride Part 1" CD

The Martens Army as they knew, loved and hated will probably never be the same again after the passing of their drummer Fabi. Not only did this leave a gap that was very difficult to fill musically, it also had major repercussions in terms of plans that had already been made, not to mention the emotional setback that affected everyone in the band personally.

 

But it still has to go on somehow, because life continues to write stories that need to be told and processed.

 

For this reason, the English-language music project between Fabi and Stöbi called “Skinhead Pride” came to the fore for legacy reasons alone.

 

The songs and lyrics have been worked on for more than 8 years now, which have finally come to an end and today culminate in the first part of the record series “Martens Army Skinhead Crew – A Skinhead's pride”.

 

Stöbi has gathered his best men around him to achieve a high-quality result both in terms of play and singing.

 

With talented musicians like Tim Steinfort (vocals), Karsten Fiebig (guitar) and Rick Groenewegen (bass), the creme de le creme of the German and international Oi! scene and present a sound that is unparalleled in today's scene.

 

Every single song is well thought out, superbly set to music and accompanied by goosebumps choirs, so that you can't complain about any failures in any way.

 

The songs range from fast, melodic hymns like “Skinhead Rock'n'Roll” to more untypical but still great rock a la ACDC (“My throat is calling for beer”) to more quiet numbers like “Phoenix rising”, which is also the case can bring tears to the eyes of the toughest guy.

 

Nevertheless, lyrically they remain confident and unreservedly true to their skinhead roots.

 

In the future, this rather special record series from Martens Army will include a total of 2 albums, which will be released exclusively in English. For all-rounder Stöbi, this doesn't mean that he isn't already working on new German-language material, focusing on his Martens Army early days and probably playing all the instruments alone if he has to.

 

So it remains exciting for the boys...

...but NOW it's time for "A Skinhead's Pride Part 1"!!!
